Method 1: Using OBS Studio
Step 1: Download OBS Studio
In this step you are using a program from OBS Studio. So please download the file first via the following link:
On the page above, click the “Download OBS Studio” button. It’s the large green button near the bottom of the page. Then click Windows 7+. This will download the installer file for windows 7 devices and above.
Step 2: Install OBS Studio
Once you have downloaded OBS, Double click the installer file and follow the instructions on the screen. Let the program install the main OBS Studio program files on your device.
This stage may still require an internet network to download the main file. Then make sure your computer is still connected to the internet network.
Step 3: Open the OBS Studio application
When the installation is complete, if OBS Studio does not start automatically, start the application by double-clicking the application in the program folder.
- If prompted to review the license agreement, click “OK“.
- The first time you run the application, you are asked if you want to run the Automatic Configuration Wizard. Click “Yes” and follow the prompts.
Step 4: Start Screen Recording
In the “Sources” window or column, click the plus sign + icon. Then select the desired recording source.
- Select “Screen Capture” or “Display Capture” to record the entire screen.
- Select “Window Capture” to record in a specific window or application.
After that, make sure the radio button “Create new” is pressed and click OK.
Select the screen you want to record and click OK. If you have multiple monitors connected to your computer, make sure you select the appropriate one in the Display drop-down menu.
If you don’t want the mouse cursor to appear on your video, uncheck “Capture Cursor”.
- Click the “Start Recording” button to start recording the screen. It’s in the lower right corner of the OBS window.
- Click “Stop Recording” when finished. The video has been saved to your computer.
To view the recorded streams, click File in the menu bar and click Show Recordings.
Method 2: Using a Screen Recorder
Step 1: Download Screen Recorder
In this second method, what you are using is ScreenRecorder. Download the application via the following official link:

Step 2: Install Screen Recorder
After you have downloaded the application file, locate the file and then double-click on the file called “UtilityOnlineMarch092009_03.exe” in your computer’s download folder. Install the application on your device.
Step 3: Run Screen Recorder
Open the application. The first time you open the Screen Recorder application. It will ask you to install Windows Media Encoder 9. Just follow the on-screen prompts to install Media Encoder 9.
Run the Screen Recorder application again. Follow the instructions to install Screen Recorder in its original location. Double-click the ScreenRecorder shortcut on your desktop to open it.
Step 4: Start Screen Recording
Select the elements you want to record. To do this, click the drop-down menu that appears on the screen, then select “Full Screen” to record the entire screen, or a specific window to record.
Check the Audio box to enable audio recording. If you plug in a microphone, you can check the Audio box to allow audio recording along with video capture. This will allow you to tell what you did on the video.
Screen Recorder uses the default Windows settings for audio input. Adjust audio level via Volume setting in System Tray.
Decide if you want your window borders to blink. This tool causes the border of the window being recorded to flash. It will not appear in the video recording.
Next, Click “OK” to open the recorder screen. Specify a file name and location. Click the button at the top of this recording app to do it.
The recording file produced by the ScreenRecorder application is a WMV video format. So search for videos in that format to easily find your screen recording files later.
Steps to Record Screen
- Click Start to start recording.
- Click the yellow Pause button to pause recording.
- Klik The red Stop button to finish recording and output to the file you specified.
